Emergence SDK

NOTE: The Emergence SDK is only currently available on Betanet.

Emergence is a Web3 protocol for game developers, plugging into game engines such as the Unreal Engine and Unity through Web3 based SDKs. Emergence provides game developers with tools that include wallet authentication, smart contracts, avatar systems, and NFT inventory services. It provides an easy on-ramp to the Open Metaverse, and will foster a new generation of games, virtual worlds and virtual reality built on Lamina1.

Lamina1 is an official partner of Crucible, Open Meta and the Emergence SDK. Both their Unreal and Unity toolsets were officially Lamina1 Betanet in September 2023, and will be integrated into Mainnet in the future.

Getting Started

The Emergence SDK is supported for both the Unreal Game Engine and Unity. It currently the supports the following versions of each game engine software:

  • Unreal Engine 4.26.2, 4.27.2, 5.0.3, 5.1, and 5.2
  • Unity 2020, 2021, and 2022

To use the Emergence Unreal Engine or Unity plugins, you will also need the following:

  • Windows or MacOS (Emergence only supports development and games on these platforms currently)
  • For Windows, Visual Studio 2019 or later
  • For MacOS, XCode 13.2.1 with the license accepted. Newer versions than 13.2.1 can cause issues with Unreal Engine

Emergence is built by and for game developers that want to integrate blockchain technology into their games. As such, we recommend users of this toolkit have at least an intermediate knowledge level working with the game engine of their choice before they dive into using the Emergence Toolkit.

To get started with using the Emergence Toolkit, follow the directions for your preferred game engine in the following two sections.
