The Lifecycle of a Metaverse Item

Supporting the full lifecycle of metaverse items, from the creator to collector, is a key consideration in our design of upcoming Spaces for the open metaverse on LAMINA1.

Future metaverse explorers will likely encounter a variety of avenues of interaction with items of variable design, complexity and purpose. At LAMINA1, we’re using research and iterative design practices to establish a toolset of suggested templates and specs that metaverse developers can use to easily integrate and support the full lifecycle of digital items.

The following sections will go through the lifecycle of a metaverse item, from the point of view of developers looking to launch a Space on LAMINA1. As in the previous “Exploring LAMINA1 Spaces” section of this documentation, our first published Space, “Space Lasers” will serve as a reference and example throughout.

NOTE: While builders are invited to use the following guidelines as a framework while building their upcoming experiences, note that every Space’s architecture on LAMINA1 will be ultimately developed, determined, and hosted entirely by their developers. We will not prevent creators who do not use this exact framework from deploying their experiences on LAMINA1.

This stance, we believe, is the best way to foster the development of a truly open and interoperable metaverse –– allowing our team to focus on building the tools needed to empower metaverse builders, rather than manage, curate, or control their content.
