Syncing Over from Testnet or the L1 Staking Wallet

Did you set up a previous wallet with LAMINA1 in Testnet? There’s no need to keep it connected to your Betanet account. We encourage you to set up an entirely new Hub account for Beta testing. We also encourage you to set up your account directly on the LAMINA1 Hub rather than simply linking up the new chain to your existing Metamask wallet.

The reason for this is two-fold: First, your UX will be significantly better in the Hub if you aren't using Metamask (Metamask only connects to a single network at a time, and switching over to different subnets within our current architecture — e.g. the identity subnet – will require user confirmation every time).

Second, if you choose to use Metamask or want to open up your original Metamask-connected Testnet account in the LAMINA1 Hub, you will have to also set up an L1 Staking Wallet and follow these additional steps.

Switching Your Metamask From Testnet to Betanet

To connect to Betanet, you will first need to disconnect from Testnet, then reset your Metamask account. Follow the directions below to do so:

  1. Tap the gear icon in the tab bar of Metamask to open the settings menu
  2. Find 'Networks' in the settings menu
  3. You'll now see a list of the networks you previously added to your Metamask. Tap on LAMINA1 Testnet. Then tap 'Delete' at the bottom of the screen
  4. From there, navigate to the 'Advanced' tab bar in the settings menu, and click the red 'Clear activity tab data' button. This will reset your account.
  5. You should now be able to connect to LAMINA1 Betanet without issue.

Syncing Your LAMINA1 Hub Account and L1 Staking Wallet

Community members interested in running nodes, validators, or delegating will also need to set up a separate L1 Staking Wallet to manage X-chain and P-chain transactions.
