How To: Purchasing a Premium Username

Once you’ve set a Standard Username via the initial onboarding flow or by visiting your public Profile, you can upgrade to a Premium Username if you’d like.

To reserve a Premium Username, follow the video tutorial and/or step-by-step instructions below:

  1. Go to your public Profile, and select “Update Username” at the top of the page
  2. Type in a Premium Username you’d like to purchase via the following registration page. NOTE: You will need at least 1 L1, plus gas and transaction fees to purchase a Premium Username on the Lamina1 Hub.
  3. Select ‘Check Availability & Cost’ to see if the Premium Username you’d like to reserve is available. If it is, the box around the username you inputted will turn green and display a green check mark, and the text on the green button will change to ‘Confirm.’ If the Premium Username you’d like to reserve is not available, the box around the username you inputted will turn red and display a red ‘X.’ NOTE: Premium Usernames are available on a first-come-first-served basis. If the Premium Username you want is not available, you will need to check back and secure it when it becomes available again via the L1 Identity Service.
  4. Once you have Confirmed your available Premium Username, you will have 10 minutes to purchase that username using L1. If successful, you will receive a confirmation message, and your account will automatically display the Premium Username you just reserved.

**NOTE: **All Premium Usernames will expire after one year if they are not renewed to encourage long-term engagement and to prevent domain squatting and impersonation.

If you reserve a Premium username, your Lamina1 Hub will automatically use this username to identify you until the annual renewal period runs out. Once you purchase a Premium username, you cannot go back to using a Standard Username on the Lamina1 Hub.
